Microsoft wants to join list of American companies that refused from cooperation with Huawei.[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ecalling, last week US President Donald Trump signed an order that prohibits US companies buying equipment of foreign producers that present risk for US National Security. At the same time, US Ministry of Trade added Huawei and 70 linked companies to the list of organization, cooperation with which should be limited or fully excluded.
List of companies that refused from cooperation includes Intel, Qualcomm, Xilinx, Broadcom и Google. They all have already notified its employees about cessation of supplies from Huawei until another order from US authorities.
Concerning Microsoft, technical giant not in a hurry yet to disclose its plans about cooperation with Chinese companies.
Nevertheless, it seems like Microsoft took away Huawei Matebook X Pro from its online-shops, and Best Buy followed its example. Nevertheless, Huawei phones and other devices are still available on Amazon and Newegg. In addition, Microsoft intends to end cooperation with Huawei in segments of consumer electronics and b2b-solutions.
Cessation of cooperation can force Huawei to refuse from plans on extension of presence on the market of laptops due to possible problems with Windows program equipment. Company started working on this market in 2017, and promised to become a leader in 3-5 years. However, according to Gartner and IDC, last year it was still not in top-5, so it is difficult to say about considerable damage because of Microsoft’s refuse to cooperate.
PCworld reports that since this time all connections of Microsoft regional representatives with Huawei will be performed via main office. There is evidence that letters and unofficial warnings about preparation for cessation of work with Huawei received Microsoft’s partners worldwide.
